Meet your Lib Dem Candidates for the Earley 2014 Wokingham Borough Council Elections

Earley needs a strong voice in the Council chamber. The Earley Liberal Democrats are the best choice on Thursday 22nd May.

Clive Jones for Hawkedon Ward

Clive Jones has lived in Hawkedon ward with his wife for over 22 years. Their daughters went to local schools and they are now both at University. Clive runs his own small business. He has enjoyed a 35 year career in the UK and European toy industry and has been the Managing Director of two medium sized businesses employing over 70 people. His extensive business experience would be of great benefit to the Borough Council if he were elected. He has been the trustee of two children's charities helping them to raise several hundred thousand pounds.

David Hare for Maiden Erlegh Ward

David brought up his three sons, now grown up, in Earley. David works for EnrYch, matching people with physical disabilities to volunteers to help them live fuller, more colourful lives. David is secretary of the Berkshire Cricket Officials Association, a registered panel umpire, is active in a local church, and supports a charity using animal related and horticultural therapy with people who have mental health problems.

Keith Yabsley for Hillside Ward

Keith Yabsley has lived in the Reading area for over 15 years. He studied at Reading University and now works locally. He is married with two young children. Keith says, “I live in Hillside: what better motivation could there be to represent this community’s interests? It’s time for some fresh ideas, and for residents’ views to be heard! We need a voice that speaks up for Earley. I would be honoured to be given the opportunity to represent our ward.”

Our priorities:

  • Standing up for all communities
  • Listening to residents
  • Protecting the vulnerable
  • Spending your money wisely
